Player Profile

Scott Cummings was selected by Essendon in the 1992 National Draft at pick number 20. He represented Western Australia at state level in the Under 17 championships in 1990 and 1991.

In a spectacular first game for Essendon he kicked eight goals from full-forward against Sydney Swans at the MCG. He was only the fifth player to score eight or more goals on debut.

He was the leading goalkicker at the Club in 1994 with 34 goals.

He was traded to AFL newcomers Port Adelaide for picks 2 and 28 which Essendon used to select premiership players, Chris Heffernan and Jason Johnson.

From Port Adelaide he went to West Coast where he played 46 games and kicked 158 goals. He won the 1999 Coleman Medal.

He played five games at Collingwood in 2002 after being delisted from West Coast in 2001, but struggled with form and injuries.

After he retired, he became a TV and radio "special comments" man.
