Dick Clough played one game, against Carlton in 1907, and another against Geelong in 1908.
He enlisted in the 5th Light Horse Regiment on 29th October 1914, in Mackay, Queensland, giving his occupation as telephone linesman.
He suffered a severe gunshot wound to the chest and abdomen at Anzac Cove, Gallipoli, and died of his wounds on 2nd June, 1915 on board HM Hospital Ship Gascon. He was buried at sea off Gaba Tepe on 6th June, 1915.
