Maurice Boyse was a half-back flanker who came from Airport West to the Under 19s in 1973 and played nine senior games for Essendon in 1975.

He then went to North Melbourne in 1976 where he played 47 games until 1981, including the 1978 Grand Final loss. He later played 16 games with the Sydney Swans from mid-1981 to 1983.

He made a successful comeback after a skull fracture.
