Harry Carey was a defender who came to Essendon via St Kevin's College and Essendon CYMS in 1935.

"Bubba" as he was known, played only three games, all in 1936, but remained at the Club until 1938.

He then went to Lakes Entrance in 1939 and 1940 before joining the Army. After the War, Carey was captain-coach of Tatura in 1946 and he played with Cobram in 1948.

He retired in 1976 from his job as principal at North Footscray Primary School.

Carey died on 4th February, 1991.
