Player Profile

Joe Callahan was a tall ruckman and centre half-forward who came from Footscray (VFA). Prior to that he had played with Birchip.

In his early games, Callahan was ridiculed because of his extreme awkwardness but he then developed into a good player who was an excellent kick and mark. He represented the League against Ballarat in 1922.
