Player Profile

Bill "Chunga" Hudd was a strong and vigorous follower who came to Essendon from Geelong where he played 27 games from 1922 to 1925. He was a member of the Geelong 1925 premiership team.

He was a fine protector of his team-mates and seemed prepared to run through a brick wall.

He only missed one game in his first season with Essendon in 1926. He played in the League team against a country side in 1927.

Hudd succumbed to knee problems in 1928 and missed the year and couldn't break back into the team in 1929.

He then went to Yarraville for a brief stay and later played 26 games with Hawthorn in 1929 and 1930.

He joined Sandringham in 1931. He also represented the Police Force in the Wednesday League during his career.

Hudd died on 5th August, 1960.
