A South Australian, Charlie Hay played at Mt Gambier before moving to Carlton where he played one game in 1910, making his debut at the age of 28 years.
He transferred to Essendon in 1911and his only games were in Rounds 7 and 11 for wins against St Kilda and Richmond.
Hay died on 21st August, 1945 and is buried at Bulla.
