Dick Harris was a defender who came from North Melbourne (VFA) and prior to that Caulfield.

He played three games in 1905.

Harris then joined Carlton where he played 58 games from 1906 to 1907 then 1910 to 1911. He wasn't selected in Carlton's 1906 premiership team but was a member of their 1907 premiership success. However, he missed out on their third flag in 1908 because he had decide to retire at the end of 1907. He returned in 1910 and played in Carlton's losing Grand Final that year. His last game for Carlton was the 1911 semi-final loss to Essendon.

After that he went to St Kilda where he played 28 games in 1912 and 1913.

He died on 31st October, 1945.
