Player Profile

Gordon "Billy" Hall was a wingman from Woodlands in the Essendon District League (Dick Reynolds' first club) who divided his football career between Essendon and Coburg.

He played one game with Coburg in 1934 before making his Essendon debut in Round 12, 1935, in a loss to Melbourne. He had difficulty getting a regular senior game but played another 16 games between 1935 and 1938 before moving back to Coburg in 1939.

He played 58 games for Coburg between 1939 and 1941 then returned to Essendon for one more game in 1942. He moved mid-season in 1942 to Fitzroy where he played two games.

He enlisted in the 2nd AIF on 15th August, 1940, but was designated as being in a reserved occupation, so he was able to continue playing.

He returned to Coburg in 1945 and 1946 after his military service.

Billy Hall died in Springvale on 28th June, 2002.
