Sudanese-born Essendon supporter, Tom Jok was recruited at number 8 in the AFL 2019 Rookie Draft, from Collingwood's VFL team. Overlooked in his draft year, he became a star with St Kevin's Old Boys while also playing with Collingwood's VFL team and was part of their VAFA premiership teams in 2017 and 2018.
He did a pre-season with St Kilda but was drafted by Essendon before the Saints could choose him. Ironically, his one game for Essendon was against Collingwood in Round 23, but he was unable to play regularly at senior level and was delisted at the end of the 2019 season.
Jok was signed by the Darwin Buffaloes in 2022.
